Ostracism in the workplace

Ostracism in the workplace

I have worked in an office for the past twelve years without any problems until recently.  I have worked hard and have had no complaints from management.  I got on well with everyone and was always invited to any work dos.  A woman came into the firm a few months ago and appeared to be lovely and friendly at first.  Now she seems to have turned nearly everyone against me.  I don’t know why as I’ve always been pleasant to her.  When I walk into the office now, people ignore me.  I am being shunned by people who I thought were my friends.  It’s got to a stage where I don’t want to go to work any more.  I’ve tried to talk to people and asked them if I have offended anyone in any way.  Apparently not.  Please don’t tell me to look for another job as jobs in this area are hard to find.  I think this woman is telling lies about me and trying to get me to leave.  She seems to be very controlling. What do I do?  How do I deal with this?
