How has my son fallen for this kind of relationship?

I have never read articles that described my ex-husband so accurately.  Unfortunately as I read the articles I saw someone else which brings me to my question.  I was married for 22 years and now divorced for 10 years.  I have a son that is now 27 years old.  He was 16 when I started to stand up for myself in my marriage and he was 18 when I got divorced.  He experienced the narcissistic behaviour and the ultimate rejection just like I did. But then about 5 years ago he met a girl online. She promptly started with the ‘love-bombing’ and gradually isolating him from his friends and family. I tried to warn my son several times but this led to more conflict which I am responsible for.  How is it possible that my son falls for this kind of relationship when he has seen it first hand?  Thank you for listening to my rant, kind regards.

  1. It’s called nature verses nurture it could be sadly that this is what he watched growing up and even though he knows it’s not right he could be just like us the abused and that is what feels normal to him:(
